The Royal Castle of Blois is the ideal introduction to the Loire Valley as it represents the synthesis of the architecture and history of the Loire castles. Its courtyard offers a true panorama of French architecture from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. In 1845, it was one of the first historical monuments to be restored and served as a model for the restoration of many other castles. The Royal Castle of Blois, labeled as a Museum of France, with more than 30,000 works, presents part of its collections in the royal apartments of the François I wing, in the Fine Arts museum installed in the Louis XII wing, but also during its numerous temporary exhibitions.
