Vast family property where Admiral Renaudin (1750-1809) was born.
The south-facing U-shaped buildings were restored and refurbished in 2007.
They offer large interior spaces with a breathtaking view of the marsh, its water and its birds.
Adjacent to the village of Saint Martin du Gua, the property consists of 3300 m² of enclosed land, including about 400 m² of living space (reception room and small living room, large kitchen-dining room, summer dining room facing west, office, 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, laundry room, souillarde) and as many outbuildings, all accompanied by 14 hectares of adjoining marshland, with meadows and stretches of water changing with the tide.
The location of the pool and its terrace facing west, outside the main courtyard but in view, was chosen to ensure the tranquility of everyone.
Hot water supply and central heating are provided by two gas boilers (buried tank).
Connection to mains drainage and motorized well complete the comfort of this family property with unique charm.
Le Gua is the most eastern commune of the Marennes basin. It has the characteristics of the meeting of salt and fresh water, with a diversity of landscapes and typical human activities.
The territory of Le Gua is ideally located at the crossroads of two important axes: La Rochelle-Royan and Oléron-Saintes. This situation, linked to the distance from the large urban centers, has allowed the commune to maintain a good level of commercial activity within its town and its outskirts with specialized shops. The commune is thus today part of the economic poles of the surroundings. The municipality has the originality of having several life centers. The villages of Châlons, Souhe, Saint Martin du Gua, Monsanson and Dercie gather almost half of the inhabitants. As elsewhere, the villages have become mostly residential. However, not so long ago, you could find everything you need. Before the war, Saint Martin, for example, had three cafés, a mechanic, a bakery, two grocery stores, and it was still possible to get a haircut or buy hardware.
