Located south of Dakar, the Petite Côte is the largest resort area in West Africa. Saly, 80 km from the Senegalese capital, is the tourist center. From Dakar airport (Yoff), the shuttles take about 1 hour and a half to get there. The seaside resort of Saly extends over 4 kilometers of sandy beach. In the center of the resort, the tourist stores flourish on the main street and the craftsmen are always there. The expansion of the resort is closely linked to that of the hotel complexes. 8 km to the south, you will discover the small town of Mbour, a typical African fishing port with its open-air fish smokeries and its market. Despite the proximity of Saly, deep Africa and its ancestral customs are still very much alive. Mbour, with its dirt streets, is a small town crowded with old-fashioned cars, carts, goats and many merchants. On its side, Saly offers all the amenities of a modern seaside resort while preserving the environment.
