Las Galeras is a small village located at the end of the province of Samaná, in the North-East of the Dominican Republic.
The closest airport to Las Galeras is El Catey Airport, and the village is 20 km from the capital of the province: Santa Barbara de Samaná.
This charming locality is in fact a fishermen’s village; it is thus an authentic village, where calm and serenity are the key words and which will please the amateurs of relaxation and change of scene.

Ideal for an immersion in the Dominican life, Las Galeras is filled with typical houses and shops and many small stalls will offer you local crafts.
As for gastronomy, a multitude of small Dominican restaurants (comedores) and some international restaurants will delight you at any time.
In season, it is possible to leave Las Galeras to observe whales in the Bay of Samaná.
The beach of the village is also the starting point of many boat trips to discover the surrounding beaches, pristine and wild and that of diving trips. The funds and coral reefs located between Cabo Cabrón and Cabo Samaná are among the richest and most preserved sites of the Nod Coast of the country.
